The theme of participation in the 2000 European Landscape Convention reveals a strategic field of action for landscape architecture. It is important to experiment with different levels of inclusion, and participation in planning and design can be the key element for the realization and proper maintenance of landscape projects in public spaces. The GLAS research group is involved in various ways in using participation as a tool to analyze, evaluate, and transform landscapes, from small everyday details within the urban green system to larger planning actions.
