About us
GLAS is a research group within the Department of Architecture and Design at the Polytechnic University of Genoa, composed of researchers and professors working in the field of landscape architecture. The Genoa Landscape Architecture School has a long tradition in research and teaching in this discipline, and the historic group founded by Annalisa Maniglio Calcagno is now an important reference point in Italy and internationally, boasting partnerships with prestigious research institutes.
Research
GLAS’s specific and highly sector-specific research focuses on current landscape developments, the most advanced approaches to interpreting them, and the most suitable strategies for preserving, enhancing, and designing the landscape in relation to current environmental and cultural changes. GLAS’s research activities benefit from continuous and fruitful interdisciplinary and international exchanges that fuel discussion on the current value of the landscape and its design.

GLAS research group includes researchers, professors, post-doc, PhD students working at the Dipartimento Architettura e Design of the University of Genoa.
